A Total Solar Eclipse 2016 will occur on March 9, 2016 will pass through 12 provinces of the four major islands of Indonesia: Sumatra, Borneo, Sulawesi and Maluku. Some of the Government agencies to the astronomical community has planned a special trip to observe these rare moments.
Best location was chosen by the communities are: Palembang (Jogja Astronomy Club), Pangkal Pinang (Imah Noong), Pontianak (Lapan), Watukosek/Pasuruan (Lapan and Surabaya Astronomy Club), Palu (Set of Amateur Astronomy, Jakarta), Luwuk (astronomy ITB), Ternate (Lapan and BMKG), Maba (Lapan and Langit Selatan).
The team dispersed in location such observations will be doing streaming video with the support of the Ministry of Communication and Information. Thus, the beauty of the Eclipse of the Sun can be enjoyed by everyone.
Watukosek, Pasuruan and Pontianak was chosen as the location for observation because the area is still getting a partial solar eclipse. However, people living in Java, Bali, Nusa Tenggara and Papua can also enjoy the solar eclipse in part because the region entered into 3 zones with the intensity of darkness 40-89 percent.
